In 1992, Theissen was forced to leave his home and as a result, emigrated to Düsseldorf, Germany. He reached the semi-pro level in basketball; ultimately leading him to the U.S. before the age of 18. He decided to reconnect with his passion for the sea and attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy.&nbsp;In 2005, Theissen began his career on the retail side of marine electronics in Palm Beach, Florida &amp; Viareggio, Italy, where he contributed to many high-profile projects, such as SY Maltese Falcon, a multimillion-dollar system and service deal with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5421" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Staten Island Yacht Sales (Company)">Staten Island Ferries</a>, and multiple bespoke yacht new-build &amp; refit projects in America, Italy, Turkey, and Croatia. Frédéric Dormeuil has an eclectic career history that includes the likes of JCB, his own family business, Dunhill and Aston Martin. He stormed into the yachting sector in 2018, partnering up with Patrick Coote, now Managing Director of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/526" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Northrop and Johnson (Company)">Northrop &amp; Johnson</a> Europe to establish The Superyacht Show – and his reception couldn’t have been warmer.&nbsp;Dormeuil has since partnered with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/158" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Fraser (Company)">Fraser Yachts</a> and Superyacht TV and was just appointed CEO of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/56854" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="BWA Yachting acquires SOS Yachting and appoints Frédéric Dormeuil as CEO (2023-01-31 12:30:00 +0100)">SOS Yachting, following the acquisition by BWA Yachting</a>. My experience with JCB all the way through to running my own business has given me an entrepreneurial mindset, but also a grittiness. My job is to maintain and strengthen this position.This year will be calm. The team has already had two major changes in short succession: a buyout, swiftly followed by a management change. Quite a lot to absorb for anyone’s system!&nbsp;How will&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4921" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="SOS Yachting (Company)">SOS Yachting</a>&nbsp;operate under the&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1850" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="BWA Yachting (Company)">BWA Yachting</a>&nbsp;umbrella?&nbsp;We’re striving for structural independence with family cooperation. The Board has given me the power and autonomy to go and do what’s best for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4921" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="SOS Yachting (Company)">SOS Yachting</a>, and an independent CEO ensures minimal crossovers between the two brands. Why?Monaco makes enormous sense; it’s the capital of yachting. Our French office isn’t far by any means, but Monaco is unique – there are so many of us in this small neck of the woods, and us planning to open here has been received positively from the industry.Any closing words about how the economical climate may impact the future?&nbsp;Mindsets have changed post-pandemic and from a macro-economic perspective it’s certainly positive for our strange little world. Jamie Swaine has joined <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/244" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="IYC (Company)">IYC</a>'s London office as Sales Consultant. Jamie has been actively and passionately involved in yachting since his childhood, cruising his family's motor yacht on the River Thames, and across the English Channel to France and Northern Europe. In his late teens he took his passion for the water to the next level, enrolling at Plymouth University to study Navigation and Maritime Science, working as a charter skipper in Croatia during his summer vacations. In 2012 he joined his first superyacht crew, working his way up to the position of Bosun and in 2017 he joined his first brokerage firm on the south coast of the UK.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/264519/image/large-780a81648d5ededd26997375509efd19.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/264519">With experience in new-build and brokerage yacht sales in the sub 30-metre market, Jamie's career moved into the superyacht sales and purchase industry, working as a broker for the London firm <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4507" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TJB Super Yachts (Company)">TJB Super Yachts</a>. UK-based yacht charter brokerage <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7091" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Helm.yt (Company)">HELM</a> has been re-acquired by its founders, Peter Harrison-Hill and Simon Morgan. The company was sold to Borrow A Boat in June 2021, to provide stability to <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7091" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Helm.yt (Company)">HELM&nbsp;</a>following the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/264157/image/large-19737b06f21801d9ff142536c5382cdf.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/264157">The transaction was overseen by specialist business advisory firm FRP, with Harrison-Hill and Morgan resuming the day-to-day running of their flagship brand. “We have always placed our customers’ needs first and believe this is vital to our long-term success,” explained Simon Morgan.“It was a key consideration in taking the company back and we remain committed to being transparent with our customers while ensuring they have amazing yachting holidays.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/264158/image/large-56adf8362d8d6f767879f8ba53c4d46e.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/264158">Since 2021, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7091" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Helm.yt (Company)">HELM</a> has gone from strength to strength, delivering almost 700 booked charters in 2022 alone, as well as being on course for over 1,000 charters for Summer 2023. The Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta 2023 has begun, with the 17th edition featuring the Southern Wind Rendezvous.

Italy-based yacht builder <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/473" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Overmarine Group SPA (Company)">Overmarine</a> has announced the launch of the first hull in the Mangusta Oceano 39 series. The 39.2-metre motor yacht was launched in Italy, with her owner, the Magusta team and all the workers involved with her construction in attendance. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/273018/image/large-1965135db3f79bb6c72a988df2926bb4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/273018">The Mangusta Oceano 39 yacht has been developed and engineered by the shipyard’s engineering department, in collaboration with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/3025" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Alberto Mancini Yacht Design (Company)">Alberto Mancini</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1365" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Verme Projects (Company)">Studio Verme</a>. &nbsp;The tri-deck yacht combines design and technology to create a strong identity in line with the Mangusta DNA.“We are so proud to see the first unit of this innovative new model in the water. She features a high volume normally found on larger yachts, with her interior design penned by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/473" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Overmarine Group SPA (Company)">Overmarine</a>'s technical department, alongside her owner.The first hull in the Mangusta Oceano 39 yacht series boasts floor-to-ceiling windows of her main and upper decks, which can be opened to seamlessly blend her interior and exterior spaces.&nbsp;Her aft area includes foldable terraces to provide direct access with the water, as well as providing guests with total relaxation in utmost privacy. Like other Mangusta models, the Mangusta Oceano 39 features a glass-bottomed infinity pool on her upper deck, which creates mesmerising water reflections into her master stateroom.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/188410/image/large-eca8d66fba6f15e3739348ffbc840a87.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/188410">In terms of accommodation, the Mangusta Oceano 39 yacht has a five stateroom layout, with her master suite situated on the main deck with a fully-automated balcony.
