Leading satellite communications provider Marlink has announced four new WaveCall(T) contracts with Superyacht owners based in America, the Caribbean and Italy. The new contracts will include the provision of Marlink's WaveCall(T) Ku-band service, which is the company's prime VSAT solution for the marine leisure market.
"Staying in touch with colleagues, friends and family while at sea is of growing importance to customers in the Superyacht and Leisure marine sectors. Our WaveCall(T) solution provides high-value, reliable Internet and voice services, supported by an un-matched after sales service and highly-skilled team of engineers," comments Tore Morten Olsen, CEO, Marlink. "Furthermore, we have recently acquired new satellite capacity allowing us to expand our Ku-band coverage of the Atlantic and in the Caribbean. This supports our strong yachting customer base in these regions."
Using the Sea Tel® Ku-band VSAT 4006 antenna, WaveCall(T) has been designed for sea going regional and multi-regional vessels that require always-on broadband and provides fast, cost-efficient communications at sea. As part of the new Superyacht contracts, Marlink will install its WaveCall(T) VSAT services onboard the vessels in Florida, St. Maarten, Washington (state) and Italy.
