MC Yacht and Ocea’s new 44m Nemo design

Nemo is a 44 metre aluminium yacht developed by MC Yacht with a design by Fulvio De Simoni for French shipyard Ocea Yacht. Her description as a Sport Utility Yacht is indicative of her self sustaining capabilities as an explorer-type yacht, able to reach a range of 4,000nm with space to adequate space to carry large tenders, sailing dinghies and jet skis.

Entrepreneur Aldo Manna of MC Yacht Brokerage and Management company called on his relationship with designer Fulvio De Simoni to create a true deep-sea yacht not only capable of carrying the equipment associated with a vessel of this type, but by designing a ‘floating resort’ environment to have the yacht appeal to today’s modern yacht owner. Cost effectiveness was another priority with an estimated project cost of well under EUR 20 million.

Over 300 square metres of open air spaces with a 25sqm beach club and Jacuzzi is just some of the luxuries guests can expect of Nemo. Inside is a large master suite of 75sqm as well as a guest gym and a further five guest cabins. Final layout options are open to the owner’s request. Ocea Yacht’s experience in building with aluminium means Nemo will be able to keep her gross tonnage below 500GT while offering spacious guest areas on board.

She will be equipped with 2800 hp allowing her to reach 16 knots in fast displacement mode, with a cruising speed of 12 knots.
