MCC has taken on an in-house Chief designer and Naval architect Ms Kasia Milewska. Kasia graduated from the Technical University of Gdansk, with a Masters Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. She subsequently worked as project manager, survey and design of Ted Hood’s fibreglass yachts at Portsmouth Marine then as Naval Architect at Southern Wind shipyards in South Africa before spending four years at The Ron Holland design studio as both a naval architect and Designer on a wide variety of sail and power projects. One of her core projects was the award winning Marco Polo transocean explorer of MCC.
This new member of the MCC team allows the builder to independently increase their range and variety of yachts. Albrecht Buchner of MCC commented: “with an in house designer we can increase what we offer clients beyond the semi custom Marco Polo range”. Kasia will start developing those new concepts and designs. Albrecht Buchner added “Even in these tough economic times we are confident that MCC yachts built in China will be even more attractive than ever to clients as the excellent build quality on offer still comes at very economical cost.”
MCC is a Hong Kong based company founded by an experienced yacht owner. The company develops concepts, designs and built Yachts in South of China at Cheoy Lee in Guangdong. Their new approach to yachts combines the reliability and savings of commercial shipbuilding with the fascination, freedom and luxury of yachting while not forgetting the respect for environmental-friendly solutions. The first MCC 45 m transocean explorer Marco Polo designed by Ron Holland and an Interior by KCA Int was launched in 2007. The second yacht of this series is well under way in MCC’s construction program.
