METS organiser Amsterdam RAI is inviting certified marine-related public charities to apply for the registration proceeds from the Design Award METS (DAME) competition. The METS Exhibition Committee will select a charity from among the entries for this 25th anniversary edition of the DAME. The donation will be announced and presented during the Breakfast Briefing on Tuesday 17 November, the official opening day of METS 2015.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/153229/image/large-1bf2313bc4b837b432fb28a8556bc0cb.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152743">The DAME Award is the most coveted annual industry award for innovative leisure marine product design. To date it has raised approximately €18,000 a year for worthy causes, with the actual amount of the donation depending on the number of entries registered.Irene Dros, Maritime Domain Manager at Amsterdam RAI, comments, “There is no better platform to launch a new product and bring it to the attention of the entire marine industry and media than the DAME Award. The winners and the nominees gain priceless publicity and, by supporting a charity with the registration proceeds, Amsterdam RAI ensures that the wider society benefits too. In addition to the funds raised, we see that the chosen charity enjoys greater international recognition thanks to its association with the DAME. This is a win-win situation for all concerned.”Charities interested in applying will find the terms and an application form at on the METS official website. Organisers of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4556" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cannes Yachting Festival (Company)">Cannes Yachting Festival</a> have announced a change to the show layout for September 2024. Designer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/283" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Luiz de Basto Designs (Company)">Luiz de Basto</a> has unveiled the renderings for a new 92-metre superyacht concept, Project MED. The new concept focuses heavily on open space and features a reflective glass superstructure that mirrors her surroundings.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/288121/image/large-808baff3b58ad59e2fbad287108918a6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/288121">Project MED takes inspiration from the power of open space and celebrates the Mediterranean lifestyle and free-spirited thinkers. Her glass staircase allows for uninterrupted views, and acts as a visual anchor. The open approach also allows the design to outlive trends and fashions of the moment and to change during the yacht’s life, just like the entire vessel herself.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/288128/image/large-1d7ca7836a04f9429143e98342c79d40.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/288128">Below the Agora deck are two decks of private spaces with an open layout configuration.
