METSTRADE 2019 - the world's largest trade exhibition of marine equipment, materials and systems - is off to a buzzing start with the event attracting a record number of over 250 new companies this year. “One of the most pleasing aspects of these new exhibitor numbers is that they come from 35 different countries,” comments Irene Dros, maritime director of the METSTRADE Show. “This is a direct result of our strong partnerships with ICOMIA and its members.”Photo: SuperYacht TimesPhoto: SuperYacht Times
The opening ceremony on the morning of Tuesday 19 November set an inspirational tone for the event. The traditional Breakfast Briefing keynote was given by Feadship Director Henk de Vries who examined the vital role played by family ties in the evolution of many yachting companies as well as ways to enrich the workforce in today’s crowded jobs market. His speech was followed by the presentation of the annual DAME Design Awards that showcase the importance of pioneering new ideas, digitisation and an eco-friendlier approach.Photo: SuperYacht TimesPhoto: SuperYacht Times
