Italian yacht designer Tommaso Spadolini has unveiled a new series of fully aluminium superyachts: the 200GT Montecristo 30 and 340GT Montecristo 43. Despite the difference in size and volume, both models maintain the balanced proportions designed by Spadolini, and embody the Florentine designer’s vast experience designing timeless yachts with clean and sober lines. It made sense to start with these as the styling and layout can be easily adapted to create models in between with the same design DNA.”Design Studio Spadolini yacht Projects Montecristo 30 and 43Photo: Design Studio SpadoliniThe exterior design of the Montecristo 30 and Montecristo 43 yacht will entail distinctive features such as air-intake grilles, dark strip-glazing and a vertical bow similar to some of his previously designed yachts such as Aslec 4 and Freedom. Spadolini commented: “Clients today expect outstanding liveability, both inside and outside. So, from the start, I decided that a distinguishing feature of the series should be a widebody main deck to maximise the interior space. Another request is that they want to be able to make full use of the foredeck, which became a second signature feature.”Design Studio Spadolini yacht Projects Montecristo 30 and 43Photo: Design Studio SpadoliniThe Montecristo 43 yacht will be able to accommodate guests in five cabins - three VIP suites and two singles - accessible from the main salon aft on the lower deck, as well as a crew of six. The pool area will be located in front of the wheelhouse on the main deck, while the sun deck is dedicated to the owner’s full-beam stateroom with a walk-in wardrobe and private day lounge.Design Studio Spadolini yacht Projects Montecristo 30 and 43Photo: Design Studio SpadoliniOn board the Montecristo 30 yacht, guests are accommodated for in two VIP suites as well as a single cabin accessed via a central staircase from the main salon, while a crew of up to five can cater to their needs. The pool area onboard the Montecristo 30 is located on the main deck and will overlook the mooring station. The enclosed sun deck houses a bright dining room with full-height sliding glass doors on both sides leading to the open aft deck. Spadolini added: “As a yacht designer, it’s my duty to look after the marine environment, and I see more and more of my clients, perhaps encouraged by their children and grandchildren, taking a more proactive approach to sustainable yachting.”
