Seen here at sunrise in Porto Cervo last month is the 62.4-metre Amels motor yacht Madame Kate. The yacht’s elegant yet cutting exterior designed by Tim Heywood is dressed in a unique non-metallic pearlescent white paint finish. One eight-metre limo tender and another six-metre MOB tender is launched through two upward opening doors on either side forward in the hull. Some of the innovative technical features include the introduction of Amels’ Heat Recovery System that uses residual energy from the engines to heat systems such as the Jacuzzi and the efficient running of the HVAC system. Inside, Laura Sessa was chosen by the owners to style their interior spaces; a decision that won them the Interior Design Award at the Monaco Yacht Show during her launch year. Madame Kate is fitted with two Caterpillar 3512C engines developing 1500 kW each which allow her to reach a top speed of 16.5 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 13 knots.
