Photo: George SchneiderBuilt by Brooke Marine in the UK, the 38.5-metre expedition-styled motor yacht Scout II was first launched in 1993 as the 34-metre Kiring and underwent several ownership and styling changes since then. Today the vessel cruises under the name of Scout II and following substantial refits in 2000, 2002 and 2014, now features a more yacht-like exterior compared to her original tub boat-esque style from the 90s. With over four metres added to her overall length, a restyled mast and an opened bow area to carry her tenders, Scout II today is more explorer-ready than ever. Here she is seen recently arriving in San Diego on the US west coast.
