Nahema is a new luxury catamaran builder, with head offices in Marseille in the South of France. Nahema designs and builds cruising catamarans over 100 feet. Nahema’s CEO, Pierre Lacagne, thinks there is a great potential for luxury catamarans in the yacht market. Nahema will exhibit at the Monaco Yacht Show (19-22nd September) and the Fort Lauderdale Yacht Show (25-29th October).
Nahema arose from the meeting between:
- A first customer, passionate and demanding owner, in search of a 110 feet catamaran, combining a great design with performance, and luxury.
- An internationally renowned architect, Gilles Vaton.
- A comprehensive team of management, effective and capable of satisfying all the requirements of such a challenging project.
Nahema CEO, Pierre Lacagne says "we are very excited about this project; we have gathered a great team with a tremendous experience in composite work and catamarans building. Our Nahemas are fast with carbon dagger boards, rotating mast and luxurious inside with a lot of space on the deck. They feature a huge access from the cockpit to the main saloon making a great living space. The first unit (110 feet) will display four suites and the whole yacht living area will measure 195 square meters. This is a unique project."
Franck Darnet was selected as the Designer for the first unit. Franck Darnet has a great experience in working both for large production shipyards such as Beneteau and custom yachts builders both sail and motor such as JFA, Garcia, Lazarra and CNB collaborating with famous architects as Bruce Farr, Philippe Briand.
Franck Darnet says “We have answered to the requirements of an open, very clear interior where the cockpit and the salon would make one large leaving space. The shipyard also asked us to pay attention to the lightness of the materials used to build a fast boat. Finally this first Nahema had to be as convenient as possible for the guests and the crew to leave aboard”. Franck Darnet works on the project with Karine Rousseau, a French Designer with offices in Miami, and lots of references in designing interiors of luxurious homes and hotels.
