Nautilus 650 concept: The 68m MY2023 ‘Black Whale’ green-powered explorer yacht

Dynaship Yacht Design has unveiled the renderings for a new 68.3-metre explorer yacht concept, Nautilus 650 MY2023, the ‘Black Whale’ edition. The green-powered superyacht is designed to withstand all sea conditions and is designed in collaboration with specialists across different sectors within the world of exploration and expeditions in the Antarctic for optimal Ice Class hull standards.

Openings would not feature in the bow of the ship as navigation takes priority for this explorer sailing yacht concept because of potentially extreme latitude.

The design concept also comprises of a submersible and a dive support boat, one tender, three motorised inflatables and four Waverunners for guests to reach even the shallowest of waters.

Her eleven crew cabins for 18 people are on the lower deck. The unorthodox layout of this vessel is comparatively different from the classical yacht design for functionality when exploring.

Within the vessel a central stairway connects all living quarters allowing crew the ability to organise the various dining areas and decks for extremely different climatic conditions. The saloon and living areas are coated in an elegant white marble with gold accents for a luxurious yet cosy character. Natural stones and materials have been incorporated into the interior renderings, with reflective emerald stone framing the edges of the room and enveloping the elevated stairs within the social space outlining a central hub.

She uses electric pods certified to operate in extreme conditions, powered by low emission generators that allow the classification of low environmental impact. Nautilus 650 is expected to have a maximum speed of 17 knots with a cruising speed of 15 knots.
