Finnish builder Nautor’s Swan has recently launched its latest semi-custom performance superyacht, the 30-metre (98’) Swan 98, to market. This beautiful new design has been developed with several customisation options that will ensure that no two Swan 98’s are the same. With more and more owners choosing yachts around the 30-metre mark, either as an entry point superyacht or when downscaling from a larger yacht, the new Swan 98 is set to prove a popular new addition to the Swan range, sitting perfectly between the existing Swan 78 and 115 models. Photo: Nautor's SwanLike every new Swan design, the Swan 98 is the result of invaluable feedback and requests from a number of Swan owners and captains together with the expert knowledge and design skills of the Nautor shipyard design team and noted yacht designer Germán Frers of Frers Yacht Design. The Swan 98 encompasses the yard’s signature DNA of ‘Performance, Elegance, Seaworthiness and Quality’. Two different layout configurations are on offer, one with the owner’s cabin forward the other with the owner’s cabin aft, each with a variety of customisation options.
In a first for the yard the interior of the Swan 98 has been designed in conjunction with renowned Italian architect Misa Poggi who has realised the Swan tradition of elegant quality interiors that are ‘a home at sea,’ creating three different interior styles for the two different layout configurations with luxurious materials including Italian leathers and textiles. “Misa Poggi has surpassed all our expectations with our new collaboration and her designs blend fantastic usage of space, unique fabrics and soft materials and the finest selected woods, all dazzled with numerous detailing and a clear link to Nautor’s tradition in yacht interior,” says Peter Naeye, Product Line Leader of Maxi Swan Yachts at Nautor’s Swan. Photo: Nautor's SwanA perfect-sized yacht for owners looking for space and luxurious comfort, but with the freedom and flexibility of a smaller vessel, the Swan 98 is sure to prove a popular option for those looking for a quality sailing yacht in this size range. “This exciting new design has been targeted at any owner looking for a combination of the best performance, best quality and the best-designed yacht of her size,” adds Naeye. “Blending Italian style and quality Finnish construction she will be produced fully in pre-preg carbon by the craftsmen of our yard and will be a winner in both performance and looks – a true Swan!”
Several options are available for owners to put their stamp on the design and make it their own, including a choice between the two configurations, the different interior styles developed by Misa Poggi, two different sailplans with two bowsprit versions and many more options to add bespoke customisations. Other options include the choice of a telescopic keel which, paired with the standard twin rudders, ensures a very shallow draft of 3.2 metres, allowing owners to take the yacht into shallow anchorages but without any compromise on performance. Her ample deck spaces have been cleverly designed to make her perfect for sailing and relaxing alike. The yard is proud that the design has already been so positively received, with special praise for the design and variety of configurations. Key features include the sleek design, carbon construction, 3.2m draft, large tender garage and interior styling options. “This is a full package 30-metre maxi Swan for a very competitive price, just under €9,000,000,” says Naeye. “We look forward to seeing the first Swan 98 on the water in the, no doubt, not too distant future.”
