On board Nautor’s Swan 31m yacht BeCool

The 31.05-metre Nautor’s Swan yacht, BeCool, was launched earlier this year in Jakobstad, Finland on the country’s east coast. Once she hit the water, BeCool was the first of the builder’s Swan 98 sailing range. Her interior is created by Loro Piana Interiors (Misa Poggi), who devised three variations for the design. The 100 GT sailing yacht features one of the three signature design themes known as Traditional Navy. This interior styling makes use of delicate fabrics such as linen and soft cotton in a nautical colour palette of navy blue and shaded white.BeCool yacht stateroomPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanBeCool yacht stateroomPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanBeCool yacht saloonPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanThe choice of materials used include various shades of tobacco in heavier fabrics like leather and traditional wood, such as natural teak and oak, are used throughout to create a classical, sailing feel.BeCool yacht stateroomPhoto: Eva-Stina Kjellman“Traditional Navy celebrates the tradition of yacht clubs and of the beautiful regattas around the world,” adds Poggi.  BeCool yacht saloonPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanBeCool yacht saloonPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanBeCool yacht saloonPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanWith a comprehensive list of specifications – including custom features such as skylights across the saloon ceiling and adjustable tables for additional dining and living areas – no two Swan 98 superyachts are the same. The spacious cockpit provides an ideal location to dine and enjoy sea views and is sheltered by a flush stored sprayhood.  This area can also be converted from a lounge space with deck sofas to an elegant dining area, shaded by an optional bimini which is also stored flush in the coachroof. Aft of the cockpit is a spacious deck which can act as a lounging space when at anchor and a line-handling space whilst sailing.BeCool yacht galleyPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanBeCool yacht galleyPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanBeCool yacht galleyPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanBeCool can sleep up to six guests taken care of across three cabins by a crew of four. Since the hull carries nearly all of her beam right aft, the Swan 98 delivers form stability when heeled which helps to provide a generous amount of space in the staterooms below. The transom folds down hydraulically to reveal a teak-decked swim platform and a garage for a 4-metre tender.BeCool yacht cruisingPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanBeCool yacht cruisingPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanBeCool yacht cruisingPhoto: Eva-Stina KjellmanEvery Swan 98 is powered by a 306 HP Cummins main engine housed in the full-beam engine room located below the raised saloon. The engine choice allows BeCool to cruise at 9 knots with a top speed of 11 knots.BeCool yacht cruising aerialPhoto: Eva-Stina Kjellman
