Following the recent launch of hull number two in their Swan 115 line, Shamanna, Nautor’s Swan launched the third addition to this performance series of sailing yachts for an experienced owner. Highland Fling is the first RACE version in the Finish shipyard’s flagship range and is developed specifically for reaching high speeds on the regatta circuit.
The RACE version for instance is fitted with a long bowsprit for improved downwind performance. For serious racers, Nautor’s Swan reports that a retractable propeller arrangement is available for an even more hydrodynamic option. Automated sail handling comes as standard on either the FD (Flush Deck) or RACE versions, with the hull and deck constructed using carbon fibre with a foam and Nomex core.
Highland Fling will now undergo testing after which she will join Shamanna at the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo in September.
Also in build at the shipyard is the fourth Swan 115, also a RACE version, along with the brand new Swan 95 S model.
