New 65 metre vintage styled design from Turkey

Baris Yurek of Baris Yurek Naval Architecture and Yacht Design has send us some interesting renderings of a vessel that wasn't designed to be a superyacht, but that could easily become a luxury yacht.

Project Istanbul was designed for a Turkish Tourism Company to be a VIP Tour Boat for short cruises on the Bosphorus. The steel vessel has an aluminium superstructure, clad in bronze tinted glass, and measures 65 metres.

Baris commented "The design vessel is still in the preliminary stage, and we haven't finilized the engineering studies, however, this Art-Deco styled vessel can easily be arranged as a yacht".

Vintage styled yachts are slowly gaining popularity. The 90 metre Nero was built in 2007, and the 47 metre Vajoliroja, owned by a Hollywood superstar, is a beautiful 2001 classically styled motor yacht. Bilgin Yachts are currently building two retro-styled yachts, and Blohm & Voss released plans for an even larger retro project.
