With steadily increasing figures (numbers of exhibitors, 600 boats on display, and surface area), and close to 65,000 visitors, this year’s event was once again a great success. In the old port prominent shipyards had their new yachts on display, whilst Port Pierre Canto, now in its 3rd year, grouped together the most eminent players in American and European brokerage business.
The SuperyachtTimes team was in Cannes to take a look at the latest models on display in the old port, and to see for ourselves what was on offer by the many brokers in Port Canto. In these pages we bring you a small selection of the best we've seen at this years Cannes Boat Show.
Alibella
Visiting a brand new Benetti is always an exciting prospect, and this was especially true for Alibella. The yacht offers a superb environment that is both richly appointed and easy to enjoy. Sophisticated accommodation and entertainment space for 12 guests is supplemented by very well conceived deck areas in addition to a helipad. We will bring you a full feature on Alibella very soon.

Villa Reis
Last year, Mondomarine brought the brand new Panther to the show, this year, the Italian yard brought another brand new superyacht to Cannes; Villa Reis. This tri-deck superyacht, with modern styling by Mondomarine, measures 39.40m in length, and offers a great deal of interior volume. The interior, designed by Luca Dini styled in neutral tones, is bright and airy. Although the yacht does not have a dedicated sundeck, she does offer excellent exterior spaces. Both the main and upperdeck have large seating areas, and the area directly in front of the wheelhouse, features a jacuzzi and sunbathing area. In the crowded and competitive 30-40m market, Villa Reis makes an interesting addition.

Darsea
Darsea already impressed us earlier this year, when we were invited for a sea trial on board in Holland, and she impressed us again in Cannes. Darsea's Art-Line interior features ample use of leather and bamboo, against a backdrop of fine cherry paneling and furniture with well-rounded corners for a soft look. Dark wenge trim adds drama (in Sofia, lighter maple trim creates a contrasting mood). In the saloon, alternate plexiglass and wenge slats are backdrop to two flat-screen TV monitors. The saloon and dining area feature woven-suede seating, white fabric overhead liners, tight-woven fabric insets, window cabinets, and carpets with bamboo surrounds. The central stairway has open steps which allows natural light to filter below and is dominated by a large circular mirror that adds to the illusion of more space. The master suite, with walk-in closet, has a large TV, "roll-top" effect decorative panels with hand-strung fine copper strands that add warm highlights to the wood, padded leather wall segments and ripple-effect doors. Beyond the pleasurable interior lifestyle, equal emphasis has been placed on enjoyment of outdoor living.

Mamma Mia
Mamma Mia is arguably one of the best Benetti 120’s ever launched. With a long list of extras added both during her construction and since her launch, the attention to detail on all areas of the yacht is unrivalled. As with all Benetti 120's, the owner's cabin on board Mamma Mia is very spacious, and beautifully decorated. The yacht, which was brought to the show by Benetti, is also being offered for sale by Edmiston.

Pure One & Pure White
Pure One, a brand new Leopard 46, made her debut in the old port of Cannes, whilst Pure White, a 2007 Leopard 34, was on display in Port Canto, being offered for sale by Camper & Nicholsons. Pure One, the largest in the range of Leopard yachts, is as elegant and stylish as she is high powered. Three 2400 HP MTU's power this 190 ton yacht, to speeds in access of 36 knots. With a stunning interior by Pure Design, Pure One offers the ultimate in luxury accommodation. Light coloured modern furniture with shades of silver, leathers and precious woods, create an airy, yet highly sophisticated interior decor.
Pure White, as her name suggests, features a light interior, in different shades of white, limed oak, and stainless steel. A splash of orange livens up the interior in the main salon. Just like her larger cousin, Pure White offers roomy and light cabins, each with a beautiful modern bathroom.

Betty
Built in 2001 by the renowned Royal Denship and refitted in 2007, Betty is a beautiful classic motor yacht with state of the art technology in all her systems. She boasts a classic Francois Zuretti interior, which has been designed with wheelchair capability in mind, and has been superbly maintained. Betty features a charming canoe stern, and lots of open deckspace on the sundeck, which includes a bar, Jacuzzi and sunloungers, and on the main deck she features a large protected aft deck.

Northern Cross
This stylish yacht, once used in a James Bond movie, stands out in many ways. Perhaps the most attractively priced 43m yacht currently on the market, she offers guests ultimate luxury, at speed. Her layout and styling, as well as her spacious exterior decks, make her an ideal charter yacht.

Romantica

Perfect Persuasion
Build in Australia by the renowned yard Oceanfast, to a design by Donald Starkey, Perfect Persuasion is a beautiful 46m yacht, that accommodates ten guests in five luxuriously appointed staterooms. The owner's cabin is on the main deck, and opens from a private marble and onyx floored lobby. His and hers bathrooms are clad in Onyx and gold. She features a large upper deck salon, and a stylish library on the main deck. Her main lobby atrium staircase is absolutely stunning.
