Alewijnse Marine Systems has announced the appointment of a new sales manager for Lantic Entertainment Systems, Patrick Talsma. Based at the company’s premises in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, Talsma will be in charge of all commercial activities in the field of entertainment systems on board of yachts.
He will be responsible for maintaining contacts with existing and potential customers, naval architects, owner’s representatives and shipyards. Further Talsma aims to develop the international sales for Lantic Entertainment Systems through current or future European representatives, as Alewijnse is the owner of the wholesale contract for Europe. Beside the sound knowledge on entertainment systems, Talsma is well informed about the integrated bridge as well as navigation and communication systems on board of luxury mega yachts.
Patrick Talsma has always been interested in yachting and yachts. Not only his professional career is of a maritime kind, also in his private life, Patrick and his family can be found on his sailing yacht most of the weekends. ‘To experience this feeling of being part of nature, completely dependent on what the weather will bring you, it is a challenge – every single time – to sail across your limits and explore the seas of Europe.’
After working for two different shipyards for yachts for a number of years, Talsma made the switch from entire yachts to specific entertainment products for yachts. Especially his experience at these shipyards gave him a wide view in the world of yachting construction and contracting. Before starting at Alewijnse Marine Systems, Talsma has been working for a major British supplier of entertainment, navigation and communication systems. Thanks to working at this company and his specific job he gained a lot of experience which will bring a valuable contribution to the Alewijnse international sales activities in the yachting industry.
