New developments for AV specialist Mr Smith

Dutch onboard AV specialists Mr. Smith have been at the forefront of creating user friendly superyacht entertainment systems that are easy to install and maintain, which present excellent value for money for superyacht owners. Now, ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show, the company has revealed new developments to their LAVIE systems product range, and announced their involvement in some exciting upcoming projects.

Reporting on a busy upcoming season, the company has signed contracts for the development and installation of their LAVIE systems on 4 new-build projects, two of which are through Nakhimov, and include a 55m, 39m, a 27m and a special project for a boat developed by Aston Martin.

The company have also announced a partnership with the lighting gurus at Rogier van der Heide and Zumtobel, to create never seen before areas on board that are enhanced by the use of cleverly placed lighting, custom designed for each project. Rogier van der Heide has created lighting projects for prestigious clients around the world, including high profile projects such as the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the National Museum of Science in London and Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. He is a leader in the field of artistic lighting for yachts - among other industries - and brings a unique edge to Mr Smith’s products and services.

In addition to this, the LAVIE systems product range has been expanded with a newly developed iPhone platform that is now even more user friendly with the use of smart graphics. An all new iWatch app has been created that can be installed onto one’s favourite new gadget, allowing you full control of all on board systems from your wrist.

Other services available from the company include a flexible and affordable space saving system to replace the often bulky and highly expensive current systems on board superyachts. The most advanced in the superyacht industry to date, the modular system provided by Mr Smith combines proven Apple technology with the lowest possible number of components. The result is a system that manages and allows guests to control ambiance and environment.
