Cesme Marina in Turkey is pleased to announce the appointment of new General Manager, Kemal Saatçioğlu after a highly successful construction programme and initial operational season.
Cesme Marina, a joint venture between Camper and Nicholsons Marinas and leading Turkish investment company, IC Holding, opened in June 2010, and has since enjoyed high berth occupancy and growing levels of visitor interest. The marina, less than an hour by car from Izmir’s international airport, also has an extensive retail development which is home to over fifty businesses including restaurants, boutiques, a supermarket, chandlery, and yacht dealers, to name but a few.
During the peak season in 2010 alone, some 15–18,000 people visited the marina daily by both sea and land. In the same month the marina hosted a Fashion Show and the 39th Navy Cup. These plus other marina events have increased Cesme Marina’s reputation as an event venue. Already the marina has a substantial event calendar planned for 2011, including a Valentine’s celebration, the Eastern Mediterranean Yacht Rally, Cesme Festival, Wine Festival and Marine Show.
Kemal Saatçioğlu comes to Cesme Marina with over 12 years’ marina and commercial industry experience, gained with the Setur Marina Group in Turkey, where he most recently held the position of Director of Business Planning as well as Marina Manager for Kalamış and Fenerbahçe, the largest marina in the group. James Beaver, C&N Marinas Operations Director commented, “Cesme is a full service luxury marina and we are excited to welcome Kemal to the team. His high profile within the industry alongside his wealth of experience, including managing other large marinas with extensive commercial areas, will ensure Cesme Marina’s success continues.
