Marina Barcelona 92 (MB92) has announced that D-Marin Investments Holding has taken a 70% stake in the business and will consequently undergo several substantial investments with the aim of developing increased international presence.
Amongst the planned developments is the installation of a second shiplift with a capacity to haul out yachts of up to 4,000 tons, and will be fully operational by 2017. This particular investment is valued at €40,000,000, and follows the first expansion phase of the marina in 2010 to 2012, in which facilities belonging to the commercial yard Union Naval de Barcelona were acquired and renovated.
D-Marin Investments Holding is a subsidiary of the Turkish Doğuş Group. MB’92’s current management team retains a 30% interest and will continue to control daily operations of the shipyard.
