S/Y Midnight departed Pendennis at the end of July after a successful 4 month visit to the UK superyacht yard. The distinctive Dubois sloop has now been painted Ferrari dark grey metallic. Integrated into the painting schedule, she also under took a comprehensive engineering programme including generator, main engine and air conditioning servicing and shaft alignment.
Captain Graeme Newton of S/Y Midnight commented on the refit “This is the first refit where we have come out on time and under budget, the Pendennis staff were very professional throughout from the skilled tradesmen to sourcing accommodation and crew entertainment.”
He continued “Having the Pendennis trade professionals on site also allowed us to work towards economic and efficient solutions rather than jumping for the expensive quick fix options. Pendennis was the best experience yet for me and I am very pleased with the final result.”
Alastair Heane, Refit Project Manager for Pendennis added “Midnight has been a great project for Pendennis; since the first meeting, Pendennis has been pro-active in engaging with the client to ensure all the scheduled works were thoroughly investigated prior to arrival and the scope of work was correctly identified to ensure correct planning.
We are very pleased at the results of the short refit; within 4 months, we have completed a colour change to the vessel including the rig, alongside a large engineering element. All this work has completed on time and within budget. The success of the project is a great reflection on Pendennis and its workforce, making it one of Europe’s premier refit facilities.”
James McMaster of Dubois Yachts commented “We were impressed with the level of professionalism and customer service provided by Pendennis. The skills and quality of the all the project team resulted in a very successful refit. We would not hesitate to use the yard again in the future”. S/Y Midnight will be available for charter in both the Mediterranean and Caribbean in 2008/2009.
