In early March 2007, Jongert Shipyard and S&A Project Development signed an agreement for the development of the exclusive Marina Suydersee. Marina Suydersee will be situated between Medemblik and Den Oever in the Wieringermeer district, a location which has been especially created for the shipyard. It can be easily reached by car (only 45 minutes from Amsterdam), and offers a unique spot directly on the IJsselmeer lake near the North Sea.
The lock at Den Oever can be reached by boat in approximately 15 minutes.
Intended for the premium market sector, Marina Suydersee will be built to a luxurious standard. It will offer unprecedented service levels and facilities, especially in comparison with current Dutch standards. Mooring at Marina Suydersee will be an all-round living experience. The sale of the various facilities has started, and there are still plenty of opportunities to meet personal requirements. Marina Suydersee will be fully operational at the beginning of 2009.
The extensive mooring facilities include approximately 300 spacious and complete berths from 12 to 26 metres, and 40 unique boathouses with a water surface of over 150 m². Some 240 built-in and heated storerooms will be added on site in the central hall for the berth owners. During the season, cars can be parked in a covered and secured garage. This hall will then be used in the winter months for winter storage. All facilities are for sale.
Furthermore, an esplanade will be added, where 14 business and/or shopping units are available for nautical companies. Above the units, 12 apartments and two south-facing penthouses with a view of the marina will be realised. A luxury hotel with a high-quality restaurant and conference rooms will also be developed.
On the first floor of the hall, in the central area, space is available to nautical companies for the development of a showroom and/or business premises of approximately 8,000 m². An all-weather complex will also be created for berth owners, visitors of the companies, hotel guests and the general public. Highlights will include a swimming pool, squash courts, a fitness centre, sauna and other leisure possibilities.
In summary, visitors to the Marina Suydersee will have everything at their disposal, and the development offers nautical companies a range of highly promising outlet options.
