New superyacht berths due to open at Port Louis

The first ten superyacht berths at Camper & Nicholsons Marinas’ Port Louis development on the exotic island of Grenada will be fully operational at the beginning of November – providing welcome news for luxury superyacht owners seeking much-needed exclusive accommodation in high-profile locations in the Southern Caribbean.

Phase One of the Port Louis Marina development is nearing completion – and 50 fully-serviced berths are currently in operation. When completed, the new marina will offer almost 400 berths for craft from 10m to 90m – including 73 superyacht berths (25m+ in length).

With a serious shortage of superyacht berths worldwide and particularly in favoured settings like the West Indies, the announcement that Port Louis Marina will soon have berths available between 75m and 90m in length will be welcomed news.

Clyde Rawls, General Manager of Port Louis Marina, said: “It’s all about location, location, location – and Grenada is in a perfect position for charters and cruisers wanting to explore the untouched islands of Grenada and the Grenadines.

“The marina, which offers world-class services, is also 12 degrees North and listed outside of the hurricane belt so it’s a perfect place to moor during the summer months.”

The region is destined to become the new hot spot for yachting in the Caribbean. Nicknamed the “spice island”, Grenada derives its name from the many spices it grows, most notably the nutmeg. As one approaches Grenada’s shores they will be thrilled by the sweet smell of spices drifting off the lush undulating hillsides. With its own International Airport and direct flights to the US , Canada, Europe (including the UK and throughout the Caribbean region, Grenada is a jewel which can easily be discovered.

Alongside the marina is the exclusive EC$1.5 billion Maritime Village. The Peter de Savary project will include individual houses, residential units, a luxurious 5-star hotel, a world class premier spa and wellbeing lifestyle centre, restaurants, bars and duty free boutiques.
