Amico & Co, superyacht refit and repair specialists, have completed the development of the Waterfront Marina, their new centre for superyacht hospitality in the heart of Genoa. The motivations behind the new construction lie with the city in collaboration with Amico & Co, as an answer to the need for hospitality for the yachts which visit their shipyard for maintenance and refit. Spanning over 15,000 square metres on land and 43,000 square metres on the water, the Waterfront Marina, Genoa, can accommodate as many as 26 superyachts up to 110-metre in length. The site, which is part of the city's proposal to become a ‘home port’ for superyachts and their crew, is located on the eastern waterfront of the city and is well integrated into the layout of the town. The marina features all of the necessary amenities, from a 4 megawatt electrical system that can power shore columns up to 1000 amps, a wifi cabled internet connection, water supply and black and grey water collection and disposal at every berth.Aside from the technical amenities, the Waterfront Marina also hosts an array of on shore sites for guests and crew, with kitchens, restrooms, a gym, yoga studio, sports facilities and more. The site has been designed by architect Renzo Piano, and it's completion marks the launch of the ‘Genoa Superyacht Hub’ promotion, promoted by Amico & Co, alongside the Pesto Sea Group. It is the goal of this collective to boost Genoa’s international position in the industry and solidify their role in the maintenance and refit sector.
