Nobiskrug begins construction on 77m superyacht Black Shark

During an official keel laying ceremony today in Kiel, Germany, Nobiskrug celebrated the start of construction on its latest superyacht named project Black Shark in the presence of the owner, shipyard staff, project members and international press. Also known as project 793, the 77-metre motor yacht brings together the design teams of Winch Design and Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. Imperial acted as the broker in the sale of this new project and will continue as owner’s representative and construction supervisor throughout the build until delivery in 2021.

Key project members took part in the traditional coin insertion process whereby the first section of steel hull is lowered onto a special coin which will remain in place until the completion of the vessel when it is retrieved and presented to the owner as a symbol of good luck. Shipyard and design teams remain tight-lipped about the project details, but Imperial Chief Executive Evgeniy Kochman gave a preview of the scope of project Black Shark and was clearly excited by this moment in the company’s history. “Project Black Shark is a major milestone for Imperial on several aspects. This is the very first Imperial vessel designed in close collaboration with Winch Design and Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, and the very first publicised superyacht project from keel laying to delivery. With Project Black Shark, together with Nobiskrug we want to give a clearer understanding of our industry and how these exclusive creations are coming to life and the people behind it. We will not only reveal to the world an exciting 77-metre superyacht, but a vision from the inside like it was never done before!”             Nobiskrug project 793 by Winch Design

Nobiskrug Managing Director, Holger Kahl added: “With two remarkable teams of designers and an experienced superyacht management company, we are truly excited to realise this bespoke project. With that in mind, we have decided to open our doors and give exclusive behind-the-scenes access. The build process is often cloaked in darkness and secrecy, so on this occasion, we are enormously happy to be able to share our innovations and processes.” Nobiskrug Yacht Black Shark Keel LayingPhoto: Imperial

Some of the features on board will include a large on-deck whirlpool, a grand beach club and spa area and two luxury tenders; all spread across three decks of stylish interior space. Black Shark will be constructed under new IMO Tier III regulations to make this one of Nobiskrug’s most eco-friendly vessels yet.

Nobiskrug is currently nearing completion on its 80-metre motor yacht known as Artefact in Rendsburg which is expected to be completed later this year.
