First teased to the industry this summer and making its debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this autumn was the first offering in Ocean Alexander’s all-new ‘Explorer’ line of yachts: the Ocean Alexander 27E. The all-fibreglass 160GT 27E marries the impressive interior volume best known from the Taiwanese builder’s Revolution series with modern and fresh styling from long-time Ocean Alexander collaborator, the London-based designer Evan K. Marshall – as well as a renewed focus on exploration to suit the owner of 2020 (the clue is in the model name!).Photo: Ocean AlexanderWith power provided by twin MAN V12 1650hp engines, the 27.04-metre vessel can transport her guests to all of those much dreamed-of destinations in style and comfort thanks to her cruising range of up to 2,100 nautical miles which is supported by robust mechanical systems. If it’s amenities you’re after, she’s got them in spades – a wet bar, a custom-made grill, a Jacuzzi, a hydraulic swim platform expansive enough to host a plethora of toys, and much more. Here, we take a closer look on board the 27E to find out more about what’s on offer.Photo: Voyage PhotographyContemporary meets functionality
At her core, the 27E is all about space, space, space – a fact which is aided by her generous beam of 6.29 metres. The huge windows enclosing her contemporary saloon help to create this sense of space in a room which comes complete with efficient L-shaped seating, stylish side tables and exquisite interior finishes including stone and white oak flooring and durable, upscale upholstery and carpets. Located further forward, her elegant dining area houses a table for up to eight guests and offers yet more breathtaking views to sweeten the deal.Photo: Ocean AlexanderPhoto: Voyage PhotographyGuaranteed good night’s sleep
Heading below, we find the 27E’s four thoughtfully laid-out guest staterooms, including an owner’s suite located amidship which offers a king-sized bed and numerous closet spaces, as well as a seating area ideal for enjoying a morning coffee and taking in the world. As an added plus-point, the owner’s suite also comes complete with two ensuites. Photo: Ocean AlexanderPhoto: Ocean AlexanderThe rest of the onboard guests will also have nothing to complain about. Those on board are accommodated across a VIP cabin located further forward which boasts an ensuite, queen bed and sitting area, as well as dual twin cabins located on either side of the main hallway.Photo: Voyage PhotographyAs an added bonus of her flexible layout, individual double beds can be converted to a king berth in both the port and starboard staterooms.Photo: Ocean AlexanderWhether you are in the master, VIP or twins, the styling of the guest accommodation is consistently elegant and fresh, with subtle design details found throughout which create a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere ideal for enjoying that elusive perfect night’s sleep.Photo: Ocean AlexanderPhoto: Voyage PhotographyA sociable skylounge
This penthouse-inspired entertainment space is one of the 27E’s true highlights. Perfect for hosting gatherings in all weather conditions, glass partitions open to create an effortless flow with the aft bridge deck in order to create that much-sought-after indoor/outdoor feel. Naturally, it would be remiss to end without mentioning one of the most obvious advantages of Ocean Alexander’s new model: the incredible amount of usable deck space. The 225 square-foot (20.9 metre) aft deck is designed with a side-folding terrace function allowing tenders and toys to be launched and retrieved with ease, bringing guests closer to the water than ever before and allowing them to make the most of their time on the water.Photo: Voyage PhotographyWhere do you want to go?
For today’s increasingly adventurous superyacht owners then, the Ocean Alexander 27E brings together the best in explorer yacht design principles in an efficient and manageable size – and does it with style aplenty. Thanks to her shallow draught of 1.25 metres, the 27E can wend her way effortlessly through shallow coves and bays, bolstered by her fuel capacity of 8,274 litres and reach parts of the world inaccessible to many yachts. The only question then: where will you take her?Photo: Voyage PhotographyTo find out more about the 27E model from Ocean Alexander, contact the company directly using the details below.
