Oceanco delivers 85.5m superyacht Sunrays

On 9 March 2010 and earlier than planned, Oceanco proudly delivered the 85.5m Y705 Sunrays. Following on from the traditional breaking of the champagne bottle at her delivery party at the Oceanco shipyard, Sunrays took the waves for her maiden voyage.

Luxurious, powerful and technologically unparalleled, Sunrays is an 85.5m (280.5ft) full displacement superyacht with a flared bow. The exterior design is by the late Björn Johansson and the interior is a Terence Disdale design at its finest. Not least because of her eye-catching teal coloured hull, Y705 Sunrays is certain to stand out amongst the yachts this summer.

Sunrays has twin 3,492kW MTU 16V 595 TE 70 engines and can achieve a maximum speed of 20 knots. She is exceptionally spacious with accommodation for 16 persons and distinguished for her multifunctional features.

The main deck holds a VIP cabin and four guest cabins which connect to each other. The large dining room can be converted into a video conference room with the optional use of the adjacent library. The dining table also transforms into an innovative gyroscopic self-leveling pool table. The elegant foldable sea balconies assure guests an unrestricted view while dining.

The yacht’s upper deck houses a master suite with a pool balcony, while a VIP cabin and study room lie behind. Both rooms have foldable sea balconies and can also be connected with the master suite, thus serving as one living area. Aft of the quarters, there is a full beam lounge.

Sunrays is another unique and innovative yacht built in complete respect to the vision of both the owner and the designer. It is a welcome and proud new member of the Oceanco fleet and a true yachtsmen’s yacht.
