Duly recognised as an industry leader, the accredited UK marine lighting brand OceanLED has continued to push the boundaries of LED lighting and transform how boat owners light up the night. From 3-metre RIBs to the largest of superyachts, OceanLED has provided LED lighting in an array of colours for yachts of all sizes and to suit all budgets for some of the world’s most prestigious shipyards.
The latest addition to the impressive range of advanced lighting technologies is the Explore E8: a brand new underwater light for metal-hulled superyachts. Due to make its debut during the METSTRADE 2019, the Explore E8 is one of the most advanced underwater lights on the market, and features an innovative mix of optics, electronics, form factors and internal drivers that work together to deliver the optimal result.
“The E8 builds on our significant research and development of reflector optics and now takes this advanced technology a step further. E8 is the latest product from OceanLED and builds on our reputation for high standards, exceptional innovation and the quality of engineering our customers have come to expect from us,” says Charles Stuart, Managing Director, OceanLED.
A key feature of the Explore E8 is its simple installation that puts an end to bulky driver cabinets and allows for easy placement and installation in the hull that, as a fully customisable system, can be tailored to the individual specifications of each yacht. The precisely angled beam of the Explore E8 delivers a defined blade of light that penetrates the water’s surface and illuminates a wider area with minimal light loss, producing a striking halo effect around the hull regardless of the variation in hull angle.
An output of 13,000 Fixture Lumen and advanced reflector optics creates a spectacular display of light around the yacht comparable to that achieved by lights with a higher lumen power. The output of every lumen on the Explore E8 is directed precisely to where it needs to be via highly efficient reflector optics which are housed inside the lights. As such, the E8 achieves the desired projection angle of up to 50-degrees by the light’s own optical system, meaning that bespoke-angled cofferdams are no longer needed.
The Explore E8 is available in Dual Ultra White/Midnight Blue or RGBW Colours DMX - the dual colour option being a first for OceanLED’s superyacht range and its output is as any single colour would be.
