UK-based <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5025" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Andy Waugh Yacht Design (Company)">Andy Waugh Yacht Design</a> has unveiled the renderings for a new 80-metre superyacht concept, Decadence. The concept takes inspiration from the automotive and aeronautical industries, while embodying the spirit of 1920s motor racing.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/272931/image/large-04096a5b63816c81ff56ec7fd9c511d7.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/272931">Decadence features a small-waterplane-area twin hull (SWATH), which minimises the cross section area at the sea’s surface. “Small-waterplane-area-twin-hull’ vessels are catamarans with submerged, cylindrical hulls attached to a central body by ‘stilts’ of minimal cross section,” explains Andy Waugh. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/272924/image/large-4483e976c4ab3081a034c37550131e01.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/272924">“As a result Decadence could achieve a reduction in pitch and roll movements of around 70 percent over a conventional monohull, vastly improving both comfort and safety onboard.” <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/272925/image/large-8791139121baa14192d9be1b6ce3d7a2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/272925">Decadence boasts a 30-metre beam and an interior volume of 5,000 GT, with her SWATH hull opening up to provide a plethora of opportunities for her interior layout.
