On board: Mengi Yay’s 34m superyacht REM

Following the launch of their 34 metre superyacht named REM in Turkey last year, Mengi Yay and NTE Yachts have delivered the yacht to her owner ahead of the summer cruising season. Designed by local Turkish studio Karatas Yacht Design, the shipyard and designer worked closely with the owner throughout the project to deliver a yacht suited to his taste and style.

REM measures 34 metres in length, 7.8 metres at her widest part and draws 2.3 metres below the water. Based on a semi displacement hull, REM is able to reach a top speed of 17 knots and cruises comfortably at 13 knots.

REM’s interior too is the work of Karatas Yacht Design who styled the yacht to resemble a soothing beach house environment with eclectic touches and family home functionality. Tones of crisp white and arctic blues immediately creates a calming atmosphere as one enters the main saloon.

REM’s master suite is found forward on the main deck which forms part of the interior designed by Kantas Yacht Design. This space is fitted with a number of special features such as an oversized skylight directly above the king-sized bed, and a fixed balcony on either side of thee suite which makes the area feel incredibly spacious. Four additional guest staterooms are located on the lower deck.
