The month of June saw the SuperYacht Times team travel across Europe to bring you the latest news and cover some of the largest yachting events all the while capturing it in immaculate detail. Here we recap just some of the most exciting events we have attended this past month.
All the action at the Superyacht Cup Palma
Photographer, Tom van Oossanen and Online Editor, Charl van Rooy, were on the scene for the whole duration of the 20th edition of the Superyacht Cup Palma, catching all the action from the water.
HISWA Press Tour & SYT Spring Party
Print Editor, Gemma Fottles, joined another successful edition of the annual press tour hosted by the Holland Yachting Group. A small group of international journalists toured several of Holland’s most prestigious superyacht brands including Feadship; Oceanco and Heesen, to name but a few. SYT also hosted a small get together, bringing together industry professionals in our office in the heart of Amsterdam.
Following Feadship’s Joy from Kaag to Rotterdam
From Tom, Charl, Account Manager, Sofia Murashova, and Database Manager, Aurelien Herman, getting up at the crack of dawn to witness her launch, to Tom travelling the breadth of the country to document her transportation from de Kaag to Rotterdam, SYT’s coverage of Feadship’s latest 70 metre superyacht has been unparalleled.
Princess Yachts hosts shipyard tour and sea trials
Gemma headed to the U.K. to attend a special tour at Plymouth based shipyard Princess Yachts, in which she was lucky enough to attend sea trials for three brand new Princess vessels.
Astondoa Shipyard celebrates 100 years
Charl travelled to Astondoa in Spain, where he took part in the yard’s 100th anniversary celebrations and witnessed the launch of their new 655 Coupe model.
Sarp Yachts showcase their first superyacht: Sarp 46
Company Director, Merijn de Waard, travelled to Marmaris, Turkey, where he was invited to experience the launching of the very first superyacht to come out of Sarp Yachts, the Sarp 46, a tri deck vessel constructed with a steel displacement hull and composite superstructure that allows for an impressive volume just shy of 500 GT.
Onboard Benetti’s Iron Man in Monaco
Merijn also spent the last day of the month enjoying the views of Monaco on board the 38.1 metre Benetti superyacht Iron Man, completed last year.
