Over 1,300 guests attend the SuperYacht Times Party 2018

After a successful show season, there was all the more reason to celebrate last week at the premier event of the year for the superyacht industry. The eighth edition of the SuperYacht Times Party saw more than 1,300 industry professionals and friends gather in Amsterdam to enjoy a night dedicated to loving our oceans.

Leading Dutch shipyard and platinum sponsor Amels introduced the #LoveOurOceans theme at this year’s event, and took the opportunity to celebrate its 100 year anniversary. With entertainment and refreshments, the theme helped highlight the positive efforts and innovations available across our industry to reduce the environmental impact of luxury yachting. 

“Owning a superyacht is fun, we’re in the fun business, but we’ve all witnessed a growing appreciation of the threat that ocean pollution is to the long-term sustainability of our industry,” said Victor Caminada, Marketing Director, Amels. 

“It’s our clients’ playground and the problem reaches all our shores. Even if luxury yachting is not a major cause, here in Holland the yachting industry is really rising to the challenge so the SuperYacht Times Party was a fantastic way to celebrate the whole industry’s commitment to our oceans together,” he concluded.

Guests entered the Escape nightclub down the red carpet, to join the ocean-themed party and were greeted by sea creatures and entertainers. Splash drummers kicked off the evening’s spectacular performances, followed by dancers and guest singers, who entertained the crowd throughout the night. 

Guests could also relax upstairs in the games lounge, which played host to live DJ and jazz musicians and a series of arcade games.
