The Overmarine Group has announced the sale of the Mangusta Oceano 42, which was officially presented at the Monaco Yacht Show last year. Featuring designs by Alberto Mancini, the 42 metre yacht is one of the shipyards long range line vessels.
She accommodates up to 12 guests and a total of 7 crew. Everything is linked to the external area, creating freedom of movement and an increased perception of space on board, something in which is emphasised by the extensive windows in the salon and transparent glazing.
Light was an important concept in the design of the Oceano 42, and two particularly innovative areas include on the deck at bow, and astern. At the deck at bow the external area has been created with two places for sunbathing that plunge into a pool with an infinity-style waterfall. A glazed skylight at the bottom of the pool brings light into the owner suite head on the underlying bridge. Astern, the tailgate has glazed cross cuts which provide glimpses through to a fully furnished beach area. Once open, it stretches out over the sea, creating a platform where the glazed surfaces become a source of natural light which lets the nocturnal illumination of the underwater lights set aft filter through.
The brand assures that entry to a different market segment does not mark an attempt to find an alternative to their main production. Francesco Frediani, the Group’s Commercial Director, comments, “This sale marks an important step for our shipyard and for our ocean-going vessels line. This is a segment in which we believe we can play a key role and become a leader, as indeed we believe we already are in the Maxi Open segment. This beautiful ship is already under construction in our Pisa facilities and we’re looking forward to admiring her sail the oceans of the world.”
