Oyster Marine have signed a three year agreement appointing GWM Racing Ltd to manage all aspects of the race management for the Oyster Regatta programme in the Caribbean and Mediterranean from January 2010. CEO, David Tydeman said: “We are delighted to have secured the services of GWM Racing, who we are confident will bring a new level of professionalism to our events, whilst maintaining the friendly camaraderie on and off the water, for which Oyster regattas are renowned. John and Peter will work closely with our existing in-house team, who will continue to manage and run the events, which are so popular with Oyster owners worldwide.” John Grandy and Peter Wykeham-Martin said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Oyster Marine. We look forward to working with the Oyster team and continuing to develop the traditional style of Oyster racing, a proven formula much enjoyed by the owners of these prestigious yachts”. GWM Racing was formed by John Grandy and Peter Wykeham-Martin after working together on the successful 2007 Dubois Cup held in Palma, Majorca. Since then GWM Racing were appointed by the Superyacht Cup to be in charge of racing for their 2008 Palma Regatta, and subsequently by Antigua Sailing Week for their 2009 Regatta. In actual fact, the average length of the current in-build yachts in Turkey is 49 meters, with many of these yachts being motor yachts and motor-sailors as well as gulets. France-based builder <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/416" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ocea (Company)">OCEA</a> has announced that the fourth hull in the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/416" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ocea (Company)">OCEA</a> Commuter 108 yacht series is nearing completion. Produced by UK-based Insensys, the system is based on three rotating carbon fibre masts capable of deploying up to 2,396 square-metres of sail.
