(Company)">Codecasa</a> is adding yet another elegant superyacht to its fleet of vessels, as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/53431" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="New Codecasa 43m F77 nears completion in Viareggio (2021-07-26 10:45:00 +0200)">the all-new 43-metre Codecasa F77 nears completion</a>. The F77 has been designed in-full by the Italian shipbuilder and with an interior volume of 499 GT, she’ll be able to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/201453/image/large-2fe1b59a9f39e5fbfa73f0fbaff78e47.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/201453">The steel and aluminium new build is set to be a strong all-rounder as not only does she boast sleek, elegant and utterly modern styling, but the F77 is also set to have strong performance capabilities thanks to twin <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1408" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Caterpillar Inc (Company)">CAT</a> engines that give her a top speed of 16.5 knots and an impressive 4,000 nautical mile range when cruising at 11 knots. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/201452/image/large-131ff2aa5ac2b016c90eb997fc3812b8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/201452">With the delivery date rolling in this year, we saw it was high time to catch up with the Italian shipbuilder’s in-house designer, Mr. Paladini Carlo to find out more about the project.Where did you draw inspiration behind the styling and design of the all-new F77?&nbsp;We’ve been infusing a traditional yacht language into our design for some years now, and the F77 is an extension of this vernacular. Our Vintage Series, established in 2011, emulates the vertical bow design of some iconic vessels from bygone eras. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/14760/image/large-302115d9544d3661141f2d21f6fbd02c.JPG" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/14760">We’ve reinvigorated the styling of two yachts in particularly: the 1930s 51-foot, wood-hulled commuter, Marlin, which was owned by the Kennedy family and used as the unofficial Presidential yacht; and the second – slightly lesser-known, but equally legendary – is the 1970s Paraggina, owned by the Moratti family.The F77 adds a contemporary twist to the plain and traditional styling of these classic motor yachts as we’ve added large windows and a wider sundeck. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/198374/image/large-57c2aeb7f6cd4a045fe188dd6d40dfdf.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/198374">What are some of the F77’s standout features that you are particularly proud of?&nbsp;There are a few features that we are particularly proud of with the F77. Firstly, with the hull design itself; we’ve created a straight and solid bow that, rather than breasting the waves when underway, meets the undulating sea in a way that ensures smooth and comfortable navigation in all weather conditions. We’ve also installed state-of-the-art chart radars with the new Sperry marine Vision Master Net technology, which makes life for the captain even more enjoyable.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/198373/image/large-89aa6dcb66bb7de60a973139a4810b05.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/198373">We are also really pleased with how much living space the F77 offers, without tipping the 500 GT scale. She’s been configured with a full-beam owner’s suite, located forward on the main deck, and four additional staterooms on the lower deck. As we’ve designed her with socialising and hosting friends and family in mind, we’ve drawn out a spacious main saloon in her cockpit and fitted her with plenty of outdoor living space. The F77 is equipped with an alfresco dining area on her bridge deck, an area that also caters to more informal occasions thanks to wrap-around plush seating.&nbsp;How have you styled the interior spaces of the F77?As with all of the yachts we build “on spec” we’ve used a chromatic palette that favours neutral colours for the F77. That way a new owner can easily adapt and change the interior design to cater to their personal taste. White is then the main colour found onboard and is paired with the warmth from the teak wood flooring. The F77 represents a perfect blend for a yacht designed for real-life on the sea: a discrete elegance that avoids showing off.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/215992/image/large-a74ab5b9a8c0727150091015036cf585.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/215992">Rendering: Codecasa 58 – Hull C127Can you say a few words on the challenges that you’ve had to face with this project?&nbsp;We haven’t faulted during this period of uncertainty and the production of the F77 remained on course. Delivery is scheduled, as planned, for the 2022 summer season. As is always the case with boat building, each product hones the experience of the shipyard and throws up unique challenges that you learn from; we continually assess the processes for our projects, fine-tuning and tweaking as we go to ensure that we always work to optimum efficiency and that we continually evolve after each project.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/215991/image/large-6c56e8b98b106b675ad14f4003634c69.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/215991">Rendering: Codecasa 58 – Hull C127What’s next for Codecasa?&nbsp;The production at Codecasa’s has not been discouraged by the long and difficult COVID-19 period and is proceeding at full speed towards its next deliveries. The United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida has dismissed the entire complaint brought by Export Yacht Sales (Brill Maritime), which alleged that Boats Group illegally monopolised the US online boat-listing market through YachtWorld, Boat Trader and boats.com.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/355047/image/large-0bd8f332392990f5a08cac6ea37b81d1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/355047">The lawsuit was filed on 14 August 2025, with Brill Maritime alleging that Boats Group controlled approximately 75 percent of the market for listing and marketing recreational boats and used subscription agreements that either bar or discourage brokers and dealers from listing vessels on rival platforms.Read more: <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/64073" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="US boat dealers bring antitrust class action against Boats Group (2025-08-21 13:00:00 +0200)">US boat dealers bring antitrust class action against Boats Group</a><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/355053/image/large-d4b378b0bbe9bf56a1926a2d570b4fd5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/355053">According to Brill Maritime, competing platforms had been unable to achieve the scale or inventory to grow their services effectively, leaving brokers and dealers with limited options.The court found that Brill Maritime had plausibly alleged that the relevant market could be defined as an online boat listing and marketing service in the United States and that Boat Group may possess monopoly power in that market.&nbsp;Brill Maritime also alleged that Boat’s Group claimed 75 percent of the global share, reasonably supporting an inference that it has a dominant position in the US market. As a result of this, the judge did not dismiss the case because Boats Group lacks market power.However, the judge said that Brill Maritime had failed to show that Boats Group engaged in illegal anticompetitive conduct and under US antitrust law, being a monopoly is not illegal by itself.The court repeatedly emphasised that monopoly power is legal, but using that power through anticompetitive behaviour to exclude rivals is illegal.&nbsp;The judge found that Brill Maritime’s three main allegations were insufficient including that Boats Group became dominant by acquiring competitors such as YachtWorld.com, boats.com and YachtCloser.com.The judge said that acquiring competitors is not necessarily illegal and that Brill Maritime had not explained how these acquisitions had harmed competition. The complaint had described the acquisitions as “strategic” suggesting it was more of a successful business move than illegal conduct. The judge explained that Brill Maritime had shown that Boats Group bought competitors, but not that these acquisitions were unlawful. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/355039/image/large-513a0ee840e10e5371f647093bba58d9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/355039">Brill Maritime also claimed that Boats Group's subscription agreements stoped brokers from listing boats elsewhere. The judge examined the contract language and concluded that the provision merely prevented brokers from implying that a YachtWorld or Boats Group listing originated somewhere else. He therefore concluded that you can advertise on YachtWorld and on other sites and the contract simply prevented you from pretending a Boats Group listing came from another platform, meaning the clause is not an exclusive dealing arrangement.Finally, Brill Maritime argued that Boats Group had dramatically increased its prices. The judge responded that high prices alone are not an antitrust violation. The court cited multiple precedents saying a legal monopolist is generally allowed to charge whatever prices it wants. To prove monopolisation, Brill Maritime needed to show that the higher prices resulted from illegal exclusionary conduct.In conclusion, the judge accepted that Boats Group may hold monopoly power in the US online boat-listing market, but ruled that the plaintiffs failed to show that Boats Group acquired or maintained that position through illegal anticompetitive conduct.United States District Judge, Roy K. Altman dismissed the complaint without prejudice, meaning the plaintiff is able to resubmit an amended complaint, with a deadline of 30 June 2026.&nbsp;The lawsuit also contained claims under Florida law, with the federal court declining to hear the state claims as the federal antitrust claims were dismissed. These were also dismissed without prejudice, allowing for them to also be refiled.&nbsp;SuperYacht Times will continue to follow this story and will provide updates where necessary.

(Company)">Codecasa</a>’s in-house technical team. The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/162" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Codecasa S.p.A. (Company)">Codecasa</a> F77 has a vertical bow and large windows which flood her interiors with light. Codecasa 43 F77 moved for outfitting

The Codecasa 43 F77 motor yacht has been moved from Darsena dei Navicelli in Pisa to the Viareggio facility where she will undergo final outfitting.
