Palma superyacht charity event raises € 10,000

On Friday 5th April, the crew of SY Aglaia and team from Complete Marine Freight set about converting a secured area in STP shipyard into a superb party venue with a covered bar serving wines, beers and various shots all donated by other yachts and businesses in the Superyacht industry both locally and from as far away as Florida with a substantial donation from Pinmar USA.

The grills served over 500 burgers and sausages with accompanying salads over the course of the evening, all food being donated by the yacht. A Mixology team served a selection of 3 different exotic cocktails and a DJ provided nonstop music.

The crew of Aglaia once again made all their hard work look so easy, the girls behind the bar appropriately dressed as bunnies for Easter along with Captain Mark Stevens and Tom Sell of Complete Marine Freight, other crew serving food and providing the music are an inspiration to us all on how to throw a cracking good party as well as how to raise money for charity!

Attendance was spectacular with yacht crews, local businesses and industry professionals from far and wide! Even the onset of rain later in the evening did not dampen the spirit of giving and we have received a huge mountain of donated clothing, toys and food for distribution through the charity. Over € 9,500 raised at the party itself then Bar Mojo in Sta. Catalina and raised a further € 800 putting the grand total over the goal of € 10,000 raised – all by throwing a party!
