The new Pendennis facility based at STP in Palma de Mallorca has enjoyed a fantastic start following the official launch in July. Providing a more convenient base to our customers in the Mediterranean over six refits have already been completed, including 55m Adela, as well as 38m Jongert sailing yacht Gloria and Perini Navi Andromeda La Dea.
Her Captain, Mac Auwer, is pleased to have access to a worldclass refit office convenient for their Mediterranean season “Following the early 2011 refit at the Falmouth facility the new Palma base provides continuity of quality craftsmanship and professionalism that we have come to expect from Pendennis.”
Tim Dewhurst, the owner’s representative of Gloria, has also been impressed by the new facility: “This is the first project within a Pendennis facility for Gloria, and it has been a pleasure to work alongside a team with such a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. It is certainly an excellent move for Pendennis to expand here and I am sure the Palma offering will grow from strength to strength.”
Director of the Palma facility, Charlie Ross, who was the chief Project Manager on the recently launched catamaran Hemisphere, is exceptionally pleased with the local reception and the high level of support since the office opened. His expertise in project management combined with a core crew of technical experts that have the backing of Pendennis’ experience of 130+ refits and over 30 new builds provide an invaluable resource. This expertise provides a reliable and professional refit team that successfully expands Pendennis’ support throughout Europe.
