Perini Navi bankruptcy saga continues: Auction to commence in July

Following the Italian-shipbuilder’s announcement of bankruptcy this past January, Perini Navi’s assets are to be auctioned off at a baseline auction price of €62.5 million.Perini Navi facility Photo: Perini NaviThe assets outlined in the filing include Perini Navi’s Viareggio and La Spezia shipyards, which are valued at €23.5 million and approximately €21 million respectively, according to reports from Italian newspaper, Quotidiano Nazione. Additional assets such as real estate holdings will also be auctioned.

The future of the shipbuilder remains uncertain since it originally alluded to financial troubles in May 2020, having reported losses of more than €80 million in 2019. Though an investment restructuring plan was offered, bankruptcy judges were unable to conclude the deal, leaving Perini Navi in a precarious position.Maltese Falcon yacht by Perini Navi in MonacoPhoto: Charl van Rooy / SuperYacht TimesThe auction will commence on the 30th of July at 15:00 and will require a €10 million deposit to be paid by 17:00 on the 28th of July.
