Perini Navi Group announces a new contract for a 40 metre cutter

The Perini Navi Group has just informed SuperYachtTimes.com that at the end of 2009 the company closed the sale of a 40 metre fast cruising cutter. Hull number C. 2180 will be delivered in 2012 and was the third new –construction contract signed by Perini Navi in 2009.

The superyacht is designed by the in-house design team of Perini Navi in co-operation with Ron Holland. The high performance sailing yacht will have a light weight aluminium hull and superstructure with a displacement optimized at 210 tons.

The yacht is rigged with a 50 metre carbon-fibre mast and carbon in-boom furling along with Perini Navi reel captive winches and control system. Shrouds are made in Nitronic 50 for those on the bow and verticals, Pbo rigging for the diagonals and backstay.

This new contract signed in December 2009, further adds to Perini Navi’s busy production plan running from 2010 up to 2013 and which presently includes 11 superyachts: 8 sailing yachts under the Perini Navi Brand and 3 Vitruvius motor yachts with the renewed Picchiotti brand.
