Italian yard Perini Navi has announced the sale of its second 42-metre sailing yacht from the E-volution line and the first of the E-volution GTS. The sale comes 4 months after the sale of the first unit from the E-volution series was announced, which slated for delivery to her expert European owner spring 2021.Photo: Perini Navi GroupThe second unit, based on the same platform developed for the first 42-metre E-volution, features an exterior concept and styling by Perini Navi and naval architecture by Reichel Pugh from US studio Reichel/Pugh Design. Her interior design will be developed by Barcelona based firm GCA with Perini Navi. The new design brings together the key traits of the E-volution series, focusing on clean lines, sufficient space onboard, a large stern platform as well as a streamlined deckhouse, as requested by the owner. For example, the mast has been lengthened to 62.5m and the keel extended to a maximum depth of 7.40m. The new sail plan also features a square top mainsail, an extended boom and 4-metre bowsprit to maximise the sail surface. Other changes have been made to reduce the displacement, including work on the deckhouse, the use of carbon for numerous fittings and the optimisation of the propulsion system.
