The new Dutch design studio Phathom has presented its new 80-metre superyacht concept: Phathom-1. In a bid to challenge and repurpose the typical layout of an 80-metre superyacht, the design of Phathom-1 features various open spaces and loft-like proportions. The owner of the new concept can enjoy the two-level owner’s suite, with a double-height lounge, mezzanine, sleeping area, private exterior ‘oasis’ garden and terrace with sunk-in pool.Raquel H. Grijota and Sean Bekeschus, the designers behind Phathom Studio have incorporated spaced out guest cabins throughout the yacht for more privacy, and a pool-side resort deck located on the main deck aft that benefits from its close proximity to the sea. The main and upper saloons feature a vanishing glass partition that guests can use to either connect or disconnect the interior space. The abundant use of full and double-height glass throughout the new superyacht creates a “sophisticated profile” that is reflected in the use of natural interior colours, materials and textures.
Phathom Studio was recently established by Raquel H. Grijota and Sean Bekeschus, who between them have worked for the likes of Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design, Nuvolari Lenard, Guido de Groot Design, Cor D. Rover Design on high-profile projects including Feadship's 60-metre Rock.it, the refit of the 43-metre Go, Benetti's 60-metre Formosa, Pride Mega Yacht's 88.5m Illusion Plus, the in-build Royal Huisman 55m Phi, Horizon FD77, FD87, FD102 and CC115, Van der Valk’s BeachClub CL600 and CL660 and the Sirena 85 Raised Pilothouse.
The new design-duo will be at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show to officially introduce the new Phathom-1 concept.
