In the lead-up to this year's METSTRADE show, Dutch design company Van Geest Design has unveiled its latest superyacht concept: the 130-metre Project Aura. Photo: Van Geest DesignIn the development of the concept, the Eindhoven-based studio followed a design brief that specified a strong and spacious yacht and took inspiration from hand-carved sculptures. The hull is cut away as your eyes travel aft, revealing more and more of the inside of the yacht. The two tones of the hull and superstructure give the vessel a distinctive and contrasting look and graphic lines in three-dimensional shapes.
The superyacht’s exterior layout is designed to facilitate social interaction between guests as well as offering ample opportunities to retreat privately.
Accommodation on board Project Aura includes two owner’s staterooms, one of which is suspended above the transom. Other onboard amenities include an exterior pool and a two-deck-high atrium.
