Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts has announced the sale of its recently-launched 55-metre motor yacht projecPollux. Currently undergoing intensive sea trials in the North Sea, she will be delivered to her owners by the end of January 2021.Pollux yacht at Heesen shipyardPhoto: Dick HolthuisOriginally started on speculation, Pollux is the second yacht in Heesen's newly restyled 55-metre Steel class. She features a calm and sophisticated interior devised by Bannenberg & Rowell and exterior design by Omega Architects. On board, she accommodates up to 12 guests across six staterooms, comprising an 86-square metre owner's suite with floor-to-ceiling windows and a 'his and hers' bathroom, a VIP suite and four additional staterooms on the lower deck.Project Pollux yacht interior designPhoto: Karel HamProject Pollux yacht interior designPhoto: Karel HamPollux's tenders and toys are stored on the foredeck and a beach club complete with steam room and sauna can be found on the lower deck aft, offering easy access to the water via the swim platform. Guests can also make the most of numerous other outdoor areas, including a large sundeck with full dining facilities, a bar and a large jacuzzi. Another standout area is her skylounge, which includes a free-standing bar and generous panoramic windows. Project Pollux yacht interior designPhoto: Karel HamPowered by two fuel-efficient MTU Tier III compliant diesel engines, the steel-hulled superyacht is set to reach a top speed of 15.5 knots and will have a range of 4,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 13 knots. Notably, her hull is an iteration of the FDHF (fast displacement hull form) devised by Van Oossanen and engineered by Heesen's in-house naval architects
