Radio Holland opens office in Port Elizabeth, South Africa

Radio Holland Group announces the official opening of a new service office in Port Elizabeth. The new office will start on January 4th 2010 and the official, celebratory opening will take place in February. This will be the 63rd office in the Radio Holland Global Network and the 6th office in South Africa. Radio Holland in Port Elizabeth will provide sales and service of marine electronics in the Eastern Cape.

The Port Elizabeth receives over 1600 vessel arrivals per year including Container, Bulk, Tanker, Vehicle Carrier, and RoRo vessels. There is a very strong yacht and fishing presence in the area as well. The new office will allow Radio Holland to better service a vast network of customers by an increased ability to respond rapidly and efficiently to both urgent and routine requests.

Dé Slager, CEO of the Radio Holland Group, says: “Our operations in South Africa and the African continent are growing and this means our network is also growing. This way we are able to adequately serve our local and international customers entering South African ports. It is part of our strategy, which is clear: we want to be where our customers are and serve them on the spot. This is why we intend to keep expanding our global network, closely monitoring shipping movements around the world.”

The new Port Elizabeth office is staffed by experienced technicians, who are there to guarantee Radio Holland’s 24/7 service. Common spares determined by years of service in the area will be stocked locally to ensure the ability to respond effectively and quickly to service requests. The workshop is shared with Commercial Marine being RH’s reseller/dealer for PE, fully equipped to address the requirements of the fishing, deep-sea, offshore and shipbuilding market. The office is accessible easily in the port and is a ten minute drive from the new Coega IDZ.
