Superyacht design agency RSD (Rainsford Saunders Design) has announced that the company will be making a significant transition over the next few weeks. After eight years of successful partnership with Rupert Rainsford Mann and in an amicable arrangement, Tim Saunders has decided to continue his career in yacht design independently of RSD.
As of June 2009, Tim will leave RSD to work on a range of new projects under the banner of Tim Saunders Yacht Design; providing distinctive design solutions to owners and yards around the world. A separate announcement regarding TSYD will be issued shortly.
At the same time, RSD will be renamed RMD - Rainsford Mann Design - with Rupert becoming the sole owner. RMD will continue to focus on its core business of designing motor yachts for both the new build and refit markets and, with its established team of talented designers, the transition is expected to be smooth.
“The partnership was a great experience,” commented Tim Saunders, “but after eight years I feel ready for a fresh challenge.” “Tim leaves the company in good shape for the future,” added Rupert Mann. “We wish him every success in his new venture.”
