The 43.31-metre Royal Huisman superyacht Ravenger has been crowned the winner of the 2021 Palma Superyacht Cup. Though the Palma Superyacht Cup was the sloop’s inaugural race, she swept the week’s Class B events, which ran from the 22nd through the 25th of June.2021 Palma Superyacht CupDespite Ravenger’s race inexperience, “The boat right off the bat had great potential but it had never raced before, and I don't think it had ever flown a spinnaker before,” remarked the vessel’s navigator, Shaun Pammenter. Ravenger was launched in 2015 in the Netherlands.2021 Palma Superyacht CupThe Class A race was dominated by the 34.14-metre Nilaya up until the last day of events. She lost the overall title to the 35.2-metre Shamanna, though the two vessels were tied in points, on the basis of the countback system. The overall tone of the event was overwhelmingly positive, with participants and organisers elated to be back on the water. Palma Superyacht Cup’s organiser, Kate Branagh commented, “All the feedback I have had from the boats has been very positive, so it certainly sounds that everyone has appreciated being able to go racing again and everyone is very understanding of the social limitations and the reasons why we can't be quite the same as usual.”
