It is often said that the METS exhibition in Amsterdam sets the tone for the year ahead for the leading maritime equipment suppliers. Its timing in mid-November and the fact that METS is the largest single gathering of its kind in the world gives the clearest possible indication of the state of the industry. So the fact that METS 2013 has announced a record attendance of precisely 20,500 professionals for the three-day B2B event will be a major encouragement to the entire sector.

A yearly highlight for the superyacht industry is the SYT METS Networking Party. This year's event was held last Wednesday, at the Level Eleven Skybar in the centre of Amsterdam.
