Held from the 19th to the 22nd September, the Redman Whiteley Dixon annual Auto Tour completed its 8th edition recently. The event saw 20 classic and modern supercars - as well as a Harley Davidson - gather at Woodcote Park in England before heading to France to enjoy winding country roads before arriving at the Monaco Yacht Show.
The first day saw participants arrive at a chateau near Reims, where a champagne reception awaited. The next day involved the most driving time of the event, concluding at a medieval castle surrounded by vineyards. Day three saw the fleet continue south, taking a scenic route to northern Rhône for lunch before heading to Provence for fine wines ahead of the tour’s awards ceremony.
The concluding day of the event included an early start to see the sunrise over Mont Ventoux before continuing to Nice for lunch in a sailing club and then onto Monte Carlo where the Tour was led by police motorcycle escort into Casino Square for the welcome reception on the terrace Salle Empire at Hôtel de Paris.
Redman Whiteley Dixon say, “Whilst the design, construction and enjoyment of some of the world’s most prestigious superyachts provides the common link between the assembled owners, designers, builders and partners, the RWD Auto Tour is a unique opportunity to step away from these roles and enjoy camaraderie, stunning locations and a wonderful driving experience en route to the Monaco Yacht Show. Standards never slip however as the entire journey is executed with the same attention to detail and elegance ever present and necessary in Superyacht design.”
Redman Whiteley Dixon collaborated with several prestigious brands and companies to make the event a success, including Aston Martin, Tai Ping, Linley of London, Lanson International, Veritas, Marine Guard and Sturgess.
