Rainsford Mann Design (RMD) has announced that their 90 metre motor yacht project Illusion has begun construction at Raffles Shipyard in China. The superyacht was designed taking inspiration from the Rolls Royce motorcar as the main styling influence, which can be seen particularly in the stem bow and flowing sheer line.
Rolls Royce Marine supplies all of the main engineering components for this project. RMD are also responsible for the interior layout which will provide for 14 Guests and 27 Crew.
Superyacht Illusion will be powered by twin 3000hp Rolls Royce Diesel engines which propel the luxury yacht to a predicted top speed of 18-20 knots. Completion of motor yacht Illusion is expected in 2014.
