RMK Marine’s 45m superyacht takes shape

RMK Marine is delighted with the progress of its new 45m Ron Holland motor yacht project. The client has chosen Design Unlimited for the interior and has been very impressed with the interior mock up images. The motor yacht currently named build number 80 will be a very special yacht and a notable addition to the RMK Marine portfolio.

The design of the yacht has been in response to a detailed brief by the client, who is an experienced yachtsman and his wife. There are several specific personal client requirements which included exterior styling unique to this design, distinguishing her interior arrangement by the full beam studio on the owner’s private deck. Large picture windows link the light and spacious interior with spectacular exterior vistas.

The general arrangement has also been designed to address a variety of cabin use possibilities, considering clients’, their young children, and large groups for family and business use. With capacity for 12 guests and 11 crew this new yacht will also cater to the high-end charter market.

The brief for the interior design given to Design Unlimited by the client was to create a welcoming comfortable environment that would be suitable for extended Mediterranean holidays and also long distance cruising.

The theme for the interior is to be based on contemporary Asian design using influences from Thailand and Japan. This has resulted in a rich palette of materials being assembled by the team which incorporate specialised finishes such as gold leaf stencilling, custom lacquering, parchment and shagreen all combined with the finest selection of silks and other sumptuous fabrics to give an eastern theme to complement and contrast with the contemporary uncluttered space planning of the interior.

Dominant materials like the dark wenge timber are offset by light fabric panels, white grooved ceilings, and decorative shoji screens which, when illuminated by the carefully considered ambient lighting, create a warm and relaxed atmosphere and a serene living space that has luxurious simplicity.

The combination of all these elements will give the yacht a truly relaxing ambience both suitable to family relaxation yet easily transformable for impressive entertaining.

RMK Marine capabilities are clearly displayed with the fine range of products it has launched and currently has in production. The Dubois designed composite Oyster 100 and 125 sailing yachts are progressing well and the hull infusion for the 100 model has been successfully implemented. The beautiful Sparkman and Stephens 52m alloy ketch Nazenin V has recently been delivered to its delighted owner. With a long list of award winning Vripack explorer yachts this stunning Ron Holland design will compliment the range of RMK Marine built vessels.
